so….Who’s legs are whos?? did you guess correctly??? we had a great first week of cycling the northern tier. It was rainy to start and we all adapted well to life on the road. establishing a routine and getting ourselves into the rythm of cycling every day. and its been very good. we’ve joined up with a couple on a tandem, greg and caroline and greg blake from michigan. along with chip and seth , a father and son team from the portland wa area. all are heading for bar harbor. excellent. not much time left here, gotta send more email and post more pics, check the link to the right for the flickr hot link!!
we are now in sandpoint and enjoying a day off. a couple of bike problems and some issues with knees and ankles. but everyone still is able to ride. my bike decided to quit shifting the front ring…sorta important when trying to get into granny. but after a new cable and some fine tuning everything is groovin. got a haircut and am looking forward to a nice sit down lunch. maybe a beer??? have to burn the pics onto a cd to send home and then I can clear the camera. don’t know what tomorrow brings, but at least the weather seems to be cooperating. clear skies and above average temps predicted!! The outlook for crossing the going to the sun road is looking bleak!! the road is currently closed and with less than a week till we attempt it !! oh, well….we’ll cross that pass when we get to it. OR NOT!! should be this friday when we get to the park. maybe june 20??? keep your fingers crossed that the road crews work hard and the temps go up….not down!! no more snow!! hard to believe that snow would even come into play but I guess thats what happens when you go above 6 thousand feet. we’ve been blissfully ignorant about just about everything not trip related. whats happening in the rest of the world? everyone ok? anyone sick? who died? are the glamorous still pretty? WHATEVER!! lets just hope that gas goes UP,UP,UP !! get those huge log trucks off the road and away from us!! I’d suspect that if I told you all about how close they come to a cyclist just because they can , that wouldn’t inspire many of you to attempt this ride. but go ahead and do it anyway, log trucks are made of rubber and they just bounce right off!! talk to you in a wee or so, gotta get some lunch!!
