There was quite the thunderstorm last night! sounded like the 4th of july. and plenty of rain to go with it. I was in the tent as the shelter was full. I had dug the requisite trenches uphill from the tent to channel the rain around the tent, and it worked! I was dry as a bone. had a 16 mi day yesterday and today was a 14 mi, so I hitched into franklin for a motel and one last resupply. its getting pretty darned hot out there today , am glad to be indoors and cool. well, there is about one more week on the trail, about 100 mi exactly before I’m done with the southern half of the trail. I’ll be on my way home by next saturday, or maybe sunday. then a couple of weeks of r+r and fattening up and I’ll head to maine to start hiking back to harpers ferry. hope the blueberries are ripe!!
